Nicki Minaj Feuds with Giuseppe Zanotti on Social Media

Rapper Nicki Minaj took to social media to voice her unhappiness with designer Giuseppe Zanotti. Minaj called out the designer for naming a leather sneaker in his collection “Nicki” despite refusing to accept the her call when she inquired about a collaboration.

Minaj took to Instagram to say Giuseppe Zanotti’s PR told her agency they did not want to discuss a collaboration. She then gave them 24 hours to respond.

Dear @giuseppezanottidesign #RunMeMyCHECK your PR must’ve fell & bumped their head when they told my agency they weren’t discussing anything with us. I’m giving you 24 hours. ? #GiuseppeWhatsGood

Minaj also broached the issue on Twitter, tweeting that she met Giuseppe Zanotti years ago, during which the designer told her she was the inspiration for the Nicki sneakers in his collection. She went on to wear the sneakers on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.

I met #GiuseppeZanotti years ago. At which time, he told me I inspired him to design a sneaker in my honor. Wore them on the cover of Cosmo

In a second tweet, Minaj went as far as to imply racism on the part of Giuseppe Zanotti’s PR team.

Celebrity collaborations are nothing new to the Giuseppe Zanetti. The designer recently collaborated Zayn Malik and Jennifer Lopez for exclusive collections.
