Art met craftsmanship at Bertoni, where brush strokes created a red floral pattern on black calf leather totes and the Italian company’s signature trunks. Meant as a tribute to the U.S. cultural tradition, the word “Freedom” was also hand-painted on a duffel bag. Gaia Bertoni, a member of the third generation of the family that owns the company, pointed to the “American dream,” artistic visions à la Jackson Pollock, and workwear references such as studs or rivets that embellished some of the sophisticated models. The company also introduced a new soft backpack in a shape reminiscent of a manta ray, also available in a luxury alligator option.
