Asics North America has made a new series of organizational appointments, including naming Mike Dougherty as chief operating officer.
Dougherty, who joined the brand in 2023, previously served as vice president of commercial. In this new role, that company noted that Dougherty will oversee all facets of the business. He will report to Koichiro Kodama, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Asics North America.
In a statement on Friday, Kodama said that Dougherty has been “instrumental” in executing a sound strategy, navigating the team to more efficient operations and a much more interconnected organization.

“We trust in his leadership and have great confidence that he will continue to drive our business forward with me and the team as we strive to achieve our ambitious targets across categories,” Kodama noted.
Along with Dougherty, Asics has also promoted Cat Ayers to vice president of marketing and Kelly Fatouretchi to vice president of merchandising and categories.
The commercial organization also has a new structure and will be led by Kevin McHale and Jennifer Tarantino. McHale is promoted to vice president of run specialty, e-commerce and retail, and Tarantino to vice president of wholesale.
Along with these new promotions, the executive leadership team reporting into Dougherty includes Barbara Turner, chief administrative officer; Paul Ljucovic, chief financial officer; Tim Durken, vice president and general counsel; Junya Nakamura, vice president operations; and Toshi Doi, senior director of corporate strategy.
As Kodama continues to oversee the entire region and lead the Asics North America business, Kris French, country manager for Asics Canada, and Julien Dionot, country manager for Asics Mexico, will continue to report to Kodama.
These executive changes come after Asics North America saw double digit growth in the U.S. wholesale channel in the second quarter of 2025 versus the same period in 2024 with a nearly 40 percent sales increase. Both the run specialty trade and sportstyle channels yielded double digit increases compared to the second quarter in the previous year.
Overall, the U.S. and Mexico produced double-digit growth in Q2 while Canada reached high single-digit growth year-to-date.
