WASHINGTON — Congress could take up the controversial Central American Free Trade Agreement possibly as early as next week and Southern textile-state lawmakers will figure prominently in the outcome of the vote in the House. WWD polled all 39 members from the largest textile states, including North and South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. The poll results appear to indicate the administration still does not have the votes it needs to push CAFTA over the final hurdle.
