Trafik, the contemporary trade show held in Miami’s South Beach, is closing up shop.
Trafik was held twice a year for the past five years, and the show’s organizers said no more will be held going forward. The last show took place in March.
Dan Caplin, Trafik’s director of operations, said that because of the slow economy, it has been difficult to keep the show going, and he and the other organizers have decided to focus their efforts on other business ventures.
“At this time, in response to the economic climate and in order to open the door for our partners to pursue other initiatives, Trafik Tradeshow will be ending its residence as the premier apparel show in South Beach,” the organizers said.
Going forward, Trafik’s partners will focus on their other businesses, including Abstract Rhythms, an event design and production company. Caplin and Brian Freedman, Trafik’s director of retailer relations, will develop their fashion driven sales and marketing platforms with Caplin leading MyDailyThread.com. Show producer KP Cote will continue to build her own brand, and CI Group will continue its work with the Carpe brand and fashion design and brand consulting. Greg Mensching is expanding his graphic design and creative business with the launch of his own Web site.
