California-based trade show Agenda came to New York for the first time, showcasing about 60 brands at the Chelsea Art Museum, most of them West Coast skate and street labels like Rvca, Vans and Obey.
Sweden’s WeSC was among the smattering of international brands there, displaying denim, sportswear and headphones. Medium washes in slim fits are the brand’s best-selling jeans for spring, said Adam Schmidt, East Coast senior account executive. “We’re in a real sweet spot with our denim at $80 to $120,” he noted. “And you can buy this brand as a contemporary line or as a streetwear line. Bloomingdale’s buys more of the contemporary product while skate stores buy the street stuff.”
Also on display were new styles of WeSC sunglasses, a first-time collaboration with eyewear maker Retrosuperfuture, along with DJ-style headphones with flip-up ears. WeSC is in talks to sell the headphones line at Apple stores, said Schmidt.
