The World Monuments Fund has announced Maryvonne Pinault, the Krehbiel family and Tata Sons as the 2023 recipients of its Hadrian Award.
The annual Hadrian Gala recognizes organizations and individuals who have contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and monuments worldwide. The gala, sponsored by Kering, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and Tata Sons, will take place at the Rainbow Room on Oct. 25 in New York. The World Monuments Fund’s annual summit is set for the day before the gala, and will feature talks and panel discussions with many of this year’s honorees.
The Pinault family has lent its support for the restoration of notable French sites including Chancellerie d’Orléans and the Saint Sulpice Church, and Tata Sons has partnered with the WMF to restore historic water systems in India. The Krehbiel family is being honored for their restoration of Irish country estate Ballyfin Demesne, which operates as a luxury hotel. Last year’s gala honored Christian Louboutin for his support of the Colossi of Memnon in Luxor, Egypt.
