“Hide your forks,” Lorde told Instagram on Monday ahead of her arrival on the Met Gala red carpet.
The singer wore a deep slate Thom Browne look to savor in a backless number with a bandeau top that defied gravity without fastening from behind. It was matched with a maxi skirt—both pieces featured wraparound bar lines—and a blazer that was draped across one shoulder.
She accessorized with Briony Raymond’s Blackened Aura Diamond Huggies around her ponytail as well as rings by Dena Kemp and Type Jewelry.
While Lorde embraced feminine flair, Browne’s design for Whoppi Goldberg explored a menswear-inspired aesthetic with a tuxedo dress. The look was complete with a top hat adorned with veil, a black tie and white pocket square.
