HAVANA BALL: Consider it a warm-up — Karl Lagerfeld, who is to stage Chanel’s next cruise show in Havana on May 3, has also chosen a Cuban theme for the Bal de la Rose, scheduled for March 19 in Monte-Carlo.
The gala at the Salles des Étoiles at Le Sporting Monte-Carlo is to feature a set incorporating sugarcane fields, pastel building facades and a Café Taberna serving up mojitos. A slate of Cuban musical performers is to culminate with an introduction to Cuban reggaeton, which incorporates hip-hop, electro and reggae.
Under the auspices of Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Caroline of Hanover, the annual event raises money for the Princess Grace Foundation, a charity supporting various pediatric health initiatives.
