In celebration of Black History Month, Harlem’s Fashion Row is partnering with Macy’s to host HFR House, an experiential fashion event taking place Thursday.
Designed as a cultural runway within a retail setting, HFR House brings together fashion, community and commerce to spotlight emerging and established Black designers.
As part of the Black History Month celebration, Macy’s will showcase three designers — Megan Renee, BruceGlen and Kaphill — in its window displays throughout the month of February, further amplifying the visibility of Black designers on a major retail stage.
The one-day activation begins with a panel discussion serving as the first part of the shopping experience. Moderated by Brandice Daniel, founder and chief executive officer of Harlem’s Fashion Row, the conversation will explore the intersection of fashion, culture and economic opportunity. Panelists include Krystal Phillips of Kaphill, Montee Holland of the Tayion Collection, alongside additional leaders and designers.

The experience creates direct access between consumers and Black-owned fashion brands, reinforcing HFR’s commitment to driving visibility and tangible economic opportunities for designers of color.
HFR House reflects Harlem’s Fashion Row’s continued mission to build pathways for underrepresented talent through access, education and commerce. By transforming traditional retail into an immersive cultural experience, the activation looks to highlight the power of fashion as both a creative and commercial force.
“HFR House represents what we believe fashion can be: culturally relevant, community centered and economically impactful,” Daniel said. “Partnering with Macy’s during Black History Month allows us to meet consumers where they are while continuing our mission to elevate and support designers of color.”
Founded in 2007 by Daniel, HFR is a platform dedicated to discovering, supporting and elevating designers of color. Through national events, brand partnerships and cultural activations, HFR creates real business opportunities for underrepresented talent within the fashion industry.
