Although much of Marie Antoinette’s jewelry was presumed lost following the French Revolution, some of it has survived nearly two centuries on. The last Queen of France spared no expense on diamonds, pearls and more lavish baubles, even as her subjects starved.
Today, most of Marie Antoinette’s jewelry is owned by private citizens, but you can spot a pair of her earrings at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington.
