‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Venice Film Festival 2024 Red Carpet Premiere Looks: Jenna Ortega, Cate Blanchett and More [PHOTOS]

On Wednesday, the 2024 Venice Film Festival commenced with the premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” Out Sept. 6 in the U.S., the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 horror comedy follows the Deetz family’s return to Winter River. Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Michael Keaton reprise their roles from the original film. Newcomers to the franchise include Jenna Ortega, who plays Lydia Deetz’ teenaged daughter, as well as Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe.

The Venice Film Festival, held annually in Venice, features new motion pictures from around the world. The 2024 jury is led by actress Isabelle Huppert, while this year’s festival includes high-profile premieres like Pedro Almodovar’s “The Room Next Door,” Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux” and Pablo Larraín’s biopic “Maria” starring Angelina Jolie, among other films.
