LONDON — Specializing in wearable ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, British brand Folk is letting loose for its 25th anniversary.
To celebrate, the brand is hosting a series of activations throughout the year.
Folk kicked off celebrations in late April by releasing a collection that paid homage to the label’s archives. The brand reworked some of its most famous styles for the capsule, like reimagining washed denim jackets into denim chore-style coats. Ranging from outerwear to accessories, prices sweep from $28 for socks to $400 for a linen blazer.
The brand also partnered with five creatives, including illustrator Joey Yu; glassblower Jochen Holz; ceramicist Ali Lousada; artist Aaron Kudi and weaver Dalia James, to create artworks inspired by pencils.

“For us, many good ideas start with putting pencil to paper,” a brand representative said. “With creativity and curiosity at the heart of our story, the pencil becomes the symbol of our 25th anniversary celebrations — a tool for sketching, scribbling, refining and redefining what’s possible.”
The artworks are set to be exhibited and auctioned this month, with proceeds going to fund a series of short-course bursaries created by Folk. Intended to support emerging creatives, the brand will announce the applications opening on its social media. Applicants can apply by submitting an artwork.
Building on its effort to give back to the community, the label is opening an artist residency space at its store in Eastcastle. The first six-month residency will be held by Yu, and applications for the space will open after her residency ends.
