A VIEW TO A KILL: The Eiffel Tower has served as a fashion spot before — think Duran Duran and their “A View to a Kill” video for the James Bond sequel of the same name. But a fashion show on top of Paris’ most iconic monument?
The project is a brainchild of Vietnamese-born Jessica Minh Anh, an events manager with a knack for vertiginous heights. Anh, who is also to walk in the show to be live-streamed from the Eiffel Tower today on her Web site, has assembled eight designers from eight different countries, who are to showcase some 100 artisanal couture as well as ready-to-wear looks for fall. They include Beinta Poulsen of Soul Made in the Faroe Islands, Kate Walz from the U.S., Hoang Hai from Vietnam and Sho Sho Esquiro from Canada.
According to Anh’s agency, J Model Entertainment, it took three months to build the two-tiered outdoor catwalk, which spans 490 feet across the first floor of the tower.
