NEW YORK — Jean Marc Plisson has been named chief executive officer of Fresh Inc., succeeding co-founder Lev Glazman at the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned beauty brand.
“I want to concentrate on consolidating things over the next few years,” Plisson said in an interview after taking the helm of Fresh on Monday. “I’d like to keep it a niche brand and continue working on the brand’s continuity, while further developing the retail and wholesale segments of the business.”
Glazman has relinquished his post to take on more creative responsibilities as co-president with his wife and co-founder, Alina Roytberg. Roytberg will be creative director for design, while Glazman will work as creative director of research and development, reporting directly to Plisson. Glazman and Roytberg will also act as the faces of the brand during marketing initiatives.
“We wanted to take the brand to the next level by fully leveraging the partnership [with LVMH] from an operational standpoint,” said Glazman. “I decided I wanted to act as the spokesperson in addition to being more involved with creating the concepts and design. My passion has always been in creative, and I wanted to be more personally involved in this side of the business.”
Plisson was previously chief operating officer for LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics North America. He has been with the company for 11 years and joined LVMH in the U.S. in 1998, coming from its Paris offices.
Plisson will report directly to Pamela Baxter, president and ceo of LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics. As part of the executive reshuffling, Fresh is moving its offices to LVMH’s 57th Street headquarters in Manhattan by June.
“[Plisson] has been a great partner to me and the overall group, and he has worked tirelessly on our behalf,” Baxter said in a statement. “Lev and Alina are excited to be able to work with him, knowing that the brand that they have nurtured and grown will be in good hands.”
Fresh products are carried at 320 U.S. specialty stores, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, Barneys New York and C.O. Bigelow. The company also has 12 freestanding boutiques, 11 of which are in the U.S. and one in London. The brand is also distributed in Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
