PARIS — Texworld, the Paris trade event that showcases textile mills and fabrics from China to India, is coming to the U.S.
Messe Frankfurt, the German firm that runs the Paris show, announced plans on Monday for Texworld USA. The new show is set to run for three days starting July 11 at the Penn Plaza Pavilion in Manhattan and will partner with Innovation Asia, a five-year-old fair organized by Lenzing Fibers of Austria, which will be integrated into Texworld USA.
“Texworld USA is the largest opportunity for manufacturers to find distribution networks in the U.S., as well as providing a new marketplace for buyers,” said David Audrain, president of Messe Frankfurt in the U.S, who anticipates that more than 100 exhibitors will attend the debut show.
Texworld USA will convene twice a year, in July and January, and will spotlight cotton, denim, embroidery, fibers, functional fabrics, knits, lace, linen, prints, silk, wool and accessories. Like its sister event in Paris, Texworld USA will cater largely to mass retailers and middle-market manufacturers.
In January, Messe Frankfurt unveiled plans for its first show in India, which is set to bow Oct. 10 at the Bombay Exhibition complex in Mumbai.
