Parasuco is moving ahead to expand its nondenim offerings with the introduction of a 15-piece exclusive line of cruisewear called Mademoiselle Parasuco.
The line launched on Nov. 1 at the Montreal flagship and at Parasuco’s new San Francisco store. It arrived at the company’s Manhattan store on Tuesday.
“We wanted to bring it out before spring for the upcoming cruise season,” said Vyara Ndejuru, a company spokeswoman. “We’ll be bringing out another spring collection of 20 pieces in January.”
Company founder Salvatore Parasuco designed the collection in collaboration with Yso Siphay Southidara. This is the first line designed by someone from outside the firm.
The collection is dominated by gold, gray and black, with prices ranging from $200 for a dress shirt to $850 for a floral brocade knee-length coat.
“A lot of our customers were asking for upscale pieces they could wear with their jeans and this collection obviously caters to that request,” said Ndejuru said. “The designers worked on original finishes and sober detailing like soft frills, invisible zippers and intricate origami-like pleating techniques.”
Parasuco recently unveiled the remodeled Montreal flagship, which doubled to 12,000 square feet. The company also announced plans to open a store in Vancouver this month and one in Los Angeles early next year.
