This was a good season to be devastatingly handsome—but when is it not, really? To a certain degree, classic hunkiness won the spotlight back from androgynous wimpiness. Few houses are steadfast in their commitment to alternative beauty, but the most effective way for a model to advance his career this season seemed to be a steamy relationship with a famous woman. Madonna’s beau, Jesus Luz (agency: Ford), walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy and Y-3, and appeared in Dolce & Gabbana’s ads. He and Her Madgesty later attended Marc Jacobs’ show together. Kylie Minogue’s main squeeze, Andrés Velencoso (Wilhelmina), took a turn in the Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier shows. And Halle Berry’s man, Gabriel Aubry ((Wilhelmina) walked exclusively for Louis Vuitton, but that didn’t stop him from sitting front row at Calvin Klein Collection.
