NEW YORK — Howard Rosenberger has been named president of Ellen Tracy, a division of Liz Claiborne Inc. He succeeds Glenn McMahon, who has resigned from the firm and is said to be joining Dolce & Gabbana as its U.S. president.
Rosenberger has been executive vice president at Ellen Tracy for 12 years, overseeing all of the brand’s sales operations. Earlier, he was president of Ralph Lauren Womenswear.
In his new role, Rosenberger will report to Susan Kellogg, group president, Liz Claiborne Inc. He steps into the post at a busy time for the brand, which plans to expand into licensing and international distribution.
“Howard is a true believer in the Ellen Tracy brand and was instrumental in the transition after the acquisition,” said Angela Ahrendts, executive vice president, Liz Claiborne Inc., in a statement. “He is a seasoned fashion executive, and I am confident that under his guidance we will be able to maximize the opportunities for this venerable business.”
