NEW YORK — In a nostalgic moment, Giorgio Beverly Hills was honored at the American Society of Perfumers’ 12th annual Perfumers’ Choice Awards, which was held here Wednesday night.
While Giorgio won the Women’s Classic award, Cool Water by Davidoff received Men’s Classic honors. Bulgari Omnia and Burberry Brit for Men won the Women’s Contemporary and Men’s Contemporary awards, respectively.
In accepting the award for Burberry Brit for Men, Jean Madar, chairman and chief executive officer of Inter Parfums Inc., said, “We took the license in 1993 when nobody wanted it and we went on to create a [successful] fragrance thanks to extraordinary perfumers like Antoine Maisondieu.”
Madar, whose company manufactures the Burberry scent, shared the limelight with Maisondieu, a perfumer at Givaudan.
The ASP Hall of Fame award went to Chanel No.5.
Limited Brands won two Body Care awards — its Bath & Body Works division won for its Black Raspberry Vanilla Lotion, and Victoria’s Secret for its Garden Pure Seduction Lotion.
Neutrogena won the Hair Care award for T/Gel Daily Control 2-in-1 shampoo, and Colgate’s Irish Spring Icy Blast soap took Bath & Shower honors.
