MILAN — Alberta Ferretti’s customers may now shed the designer’s staple tiers and ruffles for streetwear garb — her new active line called PHILO-sophy. The 50-piece collection that launches for spring fuses a club chic appeal with a sporty bent.
“Times change because fashion changes, therefore the modern way of dressing mixes sporty elements to symbolize a strong sense of belonging and of solidarity,” Ferretti said.
The line runs from reversible nylon parkas with cotton lining to slouchy zipped sweatshirts with shawl collars and form-fitting tracksuits with buttons sewn here and there for decoration. On a dressier note, PHILO-sophy includes embroidered dresses and drawstring cotton jackets. The accessories feature studded gym shoes and soft nylon totes. Velmar, a manufacturing company under the Aeffe Group umbrella, produces the line. Sales projections were unavailable.
Retail prices range from $109 for a tank top to $138 for sweatpants, and climb to $509 for a reversible parka.
PHILO-sophy will be carried in 100 select sportswear stores worldwide and 20 Philosophy stores that feature Alberta Ferretti’s secondary line.
