The Accessories Council Excellence Awards is turning out to be a star-studded event.
The gala and dinner scheduled for Nov. 5 at Cipriani on 42nd Street in Manhattan, which honors those who have raised the awareness of the accessories industry, will be filled with big names:
-Marc Jacobs will accept Designer of the Year for his full range of handbags, eyewear, jewelry and watches.
-Exotic skin maven Nancy Gonzalez is being given Brand of the Year.
-Macy’s Inc. chairman, president and chief executive officer Terry Lundgren will accept the Retailer of the Year honor.
-Co-founder Stefani Greenfield of Scoop will accept Specialty Retailer of the Year.
-Actress Kerry Washington will present Tory Burch with the Accessory Brand Launch award.
-Coach president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff will present Mandy Moore with the Fashion Innovator award.
-Model, reality TV star and jewelry designer Heidi Klum will accept the Fashion Influencer award.
-Jacobs also will present W and WWD executive editor Bridget Foley with the Mary Lou Luther Award for Fashion Journalism.
-Harper’s Bazaar editor in chief Glenda Bailey will accept the award for Magazine of the Year.
-Valentino is being given ACE’s Hall of Fame award.
“It’s been a very exciting year [for accessories],” said Karen Giberson, president of the Accessories Council. “Accessories have been the wardrobe stars and they’ll probably be the stars of the future.”
