LONDON — Joanna Sykes has left as creative director of Nicole Farhi in order to pursue new projects, the brand has confirmed.
A statement from Farhi said Sykes leaves “with our best wishes and thanks, having worked with dedication to develop the Nicole Farhi Brand.”
A Farhi spokeswoman told WWD Sykes would not be immediately replaced, and that the existing design team would continue to work on the collections.
Sykes, a Central Saint Martins graduate, joined Nicole Farhi in September 2012, taking up the new role of creative director.
She had previously been design director at Aquascutum and had held design positions at Giorgio Armani and Alberta Ferretti. For more than three years she ran her own label, Sykes, which focused on silk separates.
Sykes’ two years at Farhi — during which she won plaudits for her sleek, elegant sportswear collections — were eventful ones.
