TOKYO — Uniqlo’s same-store sales in Japan jumped 35.7 percent in October, getting a boost from fall’s dropping temperatures across the country, the launch of Jil Sander’s +J collection and other promotional campaigns.
Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. said Monday the number of consumers at its stores rose 24.6 percent in like-for-like terms. Customers snapped up the brand’s popular winter staples, such as its HeatTech line, fleece jackets and pullovers. The +J line launched in Japan on Oct. 2, attracting hundreds to the brand’s Ginza flagship. On Tuesday, Uniqlo is rolling out a second, smaller batch of +J winter items, including puffy coats and leggings.
Uniqlo’s monthly figures refer to the brand’s Japanese business and exclude Uniqlo’s operations outside Japan.
