Summer as we know it has come and gone and New York Fashion Week returns. The celebrities have disembarked from the Greek yachts and now will find their seats in the front rows of the looming fashion month circuit. The ongoing Hollywood strikes will most likely affect who decides to attend shows in one way or another — will celebs be desperate for the public attention after months without press appearances, or will they deem going to a fashion show bad optics in the midst of the strikes and sit this one out? Time will tell — and meanwhile, we’re busying ourselves with a little wishful thinking of who WWD would love to see stack the front row perches this NYFW.
We know the U.S. Open probably has him wrapped up and all, but should Carlos Alcaraz find himself with a few hours to kill, might he consider swinging by Spring Studios? We’re hoping to spot him seated next to fellow pro athlete Simone Biles, fresh off her epic return to gymnastics — and what better way to celebrate than with a fashion week victory tour?

It was only released into theaters a few weeks ago but “Bottoms” quickly emerged as one of the year’s best movies, and we’d love to see leads Ayo Edebiri, who has dabbled in fashion via Thom Browne, and Rachel Sennott turn up at shows. Similarly, one of the summer’s biggest streaming hits, “Red, White and Royal Blue,” has a cast that have made the fashion show rounds in the past but are due to become regulars: Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine. And what front row wouldn’t benefit from some Kenergy — why not throw Ryan Gosling an invite?
It’s been a busy few weeks of personal news for Britney Spears, and with her much-anticipated memoir “The Woman in Me” on the horizon, she’ll no doubt be hitting the press tour soon. It would be captivating to see her in front row conversation with Kylie Minogue, who is riding the “Padam Padam” wave into her Vegas residency, which kicks off later this fall. Perhaps they’d like to make pre-show small talk with Jeremy Allen White, should he be able to find a shirt and catch a flight from Los Angeles. And while one has to imagine Adam Sandler has been invited into the fashion week fray before, maybe now that his daughters Sadie and Sunny Sandler are stars thanks to their Netflix movie “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” he’ll consider NYFW a family outing.
Lastly, we’re predicting that TikTok’s current favorite shoe, the Margiela Tabi, will make their way onto the feet of many front row guests this week — just make sure to keep an extra watchful eye on them.
