Over her storied career, Jennifer Lawrence‘s minimalist, elegant style has helped earn her ambassador roles at many major fashion brands, including Swiss watchmaker Longines, which tapped Lawrence in late 2022 as an “ambassador of elegance.”
The Oscar-winning actress is teaming up with Longines again to be the face of its campaign for the company’s Mini Dolcevita watch collection. Ahead of the collection’s release, WWD sat down with Lawrence to discuss her ambassador role with Longines, her love of watches and what elegance means to her.

“I love a brand that’s conceptual and creative. You obviously have to like what they make and how they work and it’s been really effortless, the partnership with Longines, and I love their watches.”
On her introduction to watches:
“It developed over time. My brother-in-law when my husband and I got married gave me a watch that their father gave them when they were younger. It was such a sentimental, amazing gesture and so ever since then I’ve had a love for watches. It grew from there.”
On time management as a new mother:
“Time is so precious, especially after you have a child. I feel like I just appreciate every moment now. And being on time has always been important for me because I feel like no one expects me to be on time, so it’s always important for me to be prompt and organized.”
On her own heirloom pieces:
“In my family we weren’t huge heirloom keepers, but I married into a big sentimental family, so I have a necklace with two pieces of die, dice, and it’s because my husband and I play backgammon and that is obviously very sentimental.”
On what elegance means to her:
“Elegance always looks better when it’s a little bit more effortless and a quiet luxury. And, of course, being on time. I think it’s an attitude. It’s just being confident, that’s elegant, and not trying too hard. A classic, chic look is elegant.”
