LONDON — The late Prince Philip has a modern look-alike who is none other than his own great-grandson Prince Louis.
In light of Prince Louis’ 6th birthday on Tuesday, his mother, the Princess of Wales, shared a picture on the official social accounts of Kensington Palace that she took of the young royal.
The post said, “Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the kind wishes today.”

In the image, the prince is seen laying on the green grass in a checkered long-sleeve shirt and blue shorts. With a smiley pose, he has a striking resemblance to the young Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April 2021 at Windsor Castle, England. The pair share the same smile and facial features — the young royal does not shy away from cameras, often posing with a toothy smile and wrinkled-up eye corners, just like child Prince Philip used to.
Prince Louis has previously been spotted wearing similar attire as his great-grandfather of Greek descent, sporting collared tops layered under sweatshirts, button-up shirts, shorts and blazer suits with ties.
Last year, he was seen trying out archery, looking particularly similar to the Duke of Edinburgh when he played Robin Hood in Germany — where he had spent some of his childhood and teenage years.
The youngest of the three kids of Prince William and Princess of Wales, Prince Louis is fourth in line of succession to the throne. His siblings are Prince George of Wales and Princess Charlotte of Wales.
