Lush Cosmetics is entering a new territory — Puerto Rico.
“The Puerto Rico market is very strong in our category and many brands do exceptionally well in Puerto Rico,” said Mark Wolverton, president and chief executive officer at Lush Cosmetics North America. “The stimulus this opening will have on our ability to service the Spanish market in North America is a huge win for us. It pushes us to properly set up Spanish catalogues and Web platforms that will enhance our reach to customers that we have previously not served.”
On March 26, the handmade, British-born brand will open a 700-square-foot shop in the Mall of San Juan bringing Lush’s portfolio of stores to 220 across North America. The outpost will include a Fresh Face Mask bar and an area for one-on-one skin-care and hair-care consultations.
To promote the opening, associates will be circulating popular areas in San Juan to hand out edible freshly picked fruits and vegetables — many of which can be found in Lush’s cosmetics.
“We will assess the success of this first shop, but we expect to open more doors in this new market in the future,” Wolverton said.
He added that Lush recently opened in Alaska and will open in Nebraska this summer.
