Rodale tapped former Ladies Home Journal editor Diane Salvatore to head Prevention on Thursday, three months after Liz Vaccariello power-walked away from the health-centric title to focus on her “Flat Belly Diet” book franchise. Salvatore, who was ousted at Ladies Home Journal after a six-year run in 2008, most recently had been working as vice president and publisher at Random House-owned Broadway Books. Her résumé also includes stints at YM and Marie Claire. Salvatore will report to Bill Stump, senior vice president and editorial director for Prevention, Organic Gardening and rodale.com. Her first day as editor in chief is Aug. 9.
