After a 14-hour outage, Facebook and Instagram are back up and running Thursday morning.
Wednesday afternoon, many users globally were unable to access the social media platforms. The March 13, 2019 outage marks the largest lapse in the 15-year history of Facebook and in the roughly nine years since Instagram was founded.

In its live outage map, it shows that the Facebook outage was being primarily experienced in the U.S. and Western Europe.
With #FacebookDown trending on Twitter, Facebook issued a statement saying: “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
