Wacoal International Corp., parent company of Wacoal America Inc., has agreed to acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Glamorise Foundations Inc., a New York-based women’s innerwear company that’s primarily engaged in e-commerce.
The deal closed today, and the price of the acquisition wasn’t disclosed.
Wacoal is an intimates category leader and a major brand in U.S. department and specialty stores. Founded in Japan in 1949 by Koichi Tsukamoto and launched in America in 1985, Wacoal is known for its fit and prioritization of technical innovation, sourcing of high-quality materials and focus on the evolving consumer through millions of bra fittings on real women.
Through the acquisition of Glamorise, Wacoal will strengthen its U.S. business operations by enhancing product development capabilities in the larger band and cup size segment, building strong direct-to-consumer and e-commerce capabilities and establishing a highly profitable business platform.

By leveraging Glamorise’s expertise in product development, digital marketing know-how and proprietary e-commerce operations across the group, the company aims to accelerate the expansion of its customer base and enhance brand awareness, thereby driving further growth and profitability.

The company employs approximately 45 people, and leadership will stay.
Glamorise is one of the world’s oldest bra manufacturers and has been size-inclusive since its inception. The company makes a wide range of band sizes from 30 to 58 and cup sizes B through K.
Glamorise is known for its exclusive technologies, including the MagicLift wireless bra and the WonderWire bra. The company has expertise in developing products that fit a wide range of body types.
