MILAN — Yoox Group, which is expected to close its merger with Net-a-porter in September, has appointed Alex Alexander, who joined the company this month, as chief information officer.
In the newly created position, Alexander will lead all of Yoox’s technology functions. Prior to Yoox, Alexander — who graduated in statistics from University College London and also holds a MBA — worked for three years at Walmart Global eCommerce as multichannel technology director, where he was responsible for designing and executing the multiyear omnichannel strategy for Asda, the company’s U.K. subsidiary.
“He brings a 20-year track record of executing successful omnichannel strategies and platform migrations of significant scale,” Federico Marchetti, founder and chief executive officer of Yoox Group, said of Alexander. “As chief information officer, Alex will play a pivotal role in ensuring technology continues to be a key pillar of our competitive advantage by supporting and driving future growth as well as enhancing our cross-channel for our brand partners globally.”
