LONDON — Lydia King, the former fashion director at Harrods has joined Liberty as interim buying director to cover for the parental leave of buying director LinLi Teh.
King will start on Dec. 4 working from the British department’s headquarters on Regent Street.
“I am thrilled to be joining Liberty as interim buying director in a business I have admired and enjoyed as a customer for many years,” she said in a statement. “I am particularly pleased to join at an exciting time for the business as we plan the next phase of growth.”

King stepped down from her role at Harrods in January 2022 after about two and a half years.
Her speciality lies within luxury department stores. She started her career as assistant buyer at Harvey Nichols in 2003 before moving to Selfridges in 2006, where she remained for 13 years climbing up the ladder from womenswear ready-to-wear buying manager, head of fashion and trading — digital to womenswear buying and merchandising director.
She left Selfridges in August 2019.
