The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. unveiled the winners of its second annual Leonard A. Lauder Volunteer of the Year Awards on Monday at Michael’s Restaurant in New York. The ceremony recognized three Lauder employees and their work with certified nonprofit organizations within the U.S. and Canada. The 2012 awards featured new two categories: Volunteer Leader of the Year and Volunteer of the Year Middle East and India.
“The Estée Lauder Cos.’ dedication to philanthropy dates back to the early days of our company and demonstrates our high-touch heritage,” said Fabrizio Freda, president and chief executive officer of the Estée Lauder Cos. “I highly commend our three colleagues who have each pursued their passion and demonstrated a personal commitment of time and energy to giving back in unique and individual ways. The Leonard A. Lauder Volunteer of the Year Awards personify excellence in leadership, and Melissa Pandolfi, Deepthi Binny and Jill Gould could not be more deserving of this recognition.”
The winner of the Leonard A. Lauder Volunteer of the Year Award was Pandolfi, assistant manager of corporate archives for the Estée Lauder Cos. She was recognized for 12 years working with Camp Rising Sun, a camp for children diagnosed with cancer. Winner of the Volunteer of the Year Award Middle East and India was Binny, finance business analyst at Estée Lauder Dubai/UAE, recognized for her children’s education advocacy work with Save the Globe. The Volunteer Leader of the Year Award was given to Gould, former director of global education for the Origins division, on behalf of her seven-year commitment to developing Origins Oasis, a branded volunteer program that supports families of hospitalized children, in partnership with Project Sunshine. Each of the honoree’s nonprofit partners received $2,500.
