PARIS — Alexandra Winokur has been named deputy chief executive officer of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s North American division.
The executive, who was president of Christian Dior Couture Americas since 2023, will take up her new post on Monday, reporting to Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of LVMH Americas, the group said in an internal memo seen by WWD.
She succeeds Anish Melwani, who is leaving the group to pursue new professional opportunities, according to LVMH. He will remain until April following a transition period with Winokur.

A retail specialist who has held senior roles at companies including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Marc Jacobs, she brings a wealth of experience of brands within the group and is expected to work hand-in-hand with Burke to drive growth in the U.S., the leading market for French luxury goods.
Winokur began her career in 2000 as a financial analyst for Goldman, Sachs & Co., before becoming associate at the Guggenheim investment and advisory firm in 2003, spearheading the launch of Tory Burch LLC on behalf of the company’s founders. From 2005 to 2008, Winokur was director, retail and web, and vice president, boutiques at Tory Burch.
“She will strengthen the community of local brand presidents, providing direction on key topics such as client experience, retail and digital innovation to foster and accelerate the group’s local ambitions,” LVMH said.
French brands operating in the market are dealing with the impact of tariffs, distribution challenges and falling prices.
Nonetheless, it was the best-performing region for LVMH in 2025, with full-year sales in the U.S. remaining flat even as overall group revenues declined 1 percent in organic terms. As of the end of last year, LVMH operated 1,232 stores in the U.S. and counted nearly 42,000 employees.
Melwani, who held the title of chairman and CEO of LVMH Inc., leaves the post after a decade, having significantly grown LVMH’s North American business and attractiveness, coordinated regional operations and launched several global initiatives, the group noted.
During that time, LVMH grew its retail and manufacturing presence significantly, including the opening of a Louis Vuitton leather goods workshop in Texas in 2019 that was inaugurated by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“North America is of paramount strategic importance to LVMH and the enduring desirability of our maisons. I am pleased to welcome Alexandra, who will undoubtedly help us further grow our presence and uphold our uncompromising standards of excellence throughout our operations,” Burke said.
“My deepest thanks go to Anish for his passionate leadership and impactful contribution to our group and maisons in North America. He leaves behind an extremely committed team, whose outstanding management of the local business is widely recognized by the industry,” he added.
