WASHINGTON — President Obama has nominated Leon Rodriguez, deputy assistant attorney general and chief of staff in the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice, as Administrator of the Wage & Hour Division at the Department of Labor.
The Wage & Hour Division is responsible for enforcing U.S. labor laws, including those governing federal minimum wage, overtime pay, child labor requirements, family and medical leave practices, employment standards and worker protections. Prior to his current post, where he lead the division’s work on immigration and national-origin related civil rights matters, Rodriguez was the County Attorney for Montgomery County, Md.
