BERLIN — German designer Michael Michalsky and fragrance producer Mäurer & Wirtz have struck a deal to create a fragrance and body care line for the designer that will bow in 2010.
Michalsky has designed for Levi’s and spent time as worldwide creative director for Adidas — including spearheading Y-3 with Yoji Yamamoto — before launching his own brand, Michalsky, in 2006, and opening a Berlin boutique last year.
The fragrance project will be handled by Stolberg-based Mäurer & Wirtz’s M&W Prestige Cosmetics arm, which has had success with the sassy selective lingerie-inspired Pussy Deluxe women’s scent line. Mäurer & Wirtz also recently signed up with Swiss men’s wear brand Strellson to do a scent and personal care line.
Michalsky, who has an eyewear license with Düsseldorf’s Nigura Metzler and a license for blouses and shirts with manufacturer Seidensticker, also designed a collection of handbags for MCM.
