LONDON — European stock markets logged modest gains in morning trading on Tuesday.
The FTSE MIB in Milan advanced 0.2 percent to 18,943.08, followed the CAC 40 in Paris and FTSE 100 in Milan, which were up 0.1 percent to 4,851.04 and 72,56.71, respectively. Meanwhile, the DAX in Frankfurt was flat at 19,533.72.
The euro traded at $1.05, the pound at $1.24 and the Danish krone at $0.14 at 9:30 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were uneven, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Marks & Spencer Group, 2.3 percent to 3.36 pounds. Kering and Zalando were each up 1 percent to 233.30 euros and 38.03 euros, respectively.
Among the stocks that lost the most ground were French Connection, 2.1 percent to 0.34 pounds; Pandora, 1.4 percent to 804 Danish kroner, and Yoox Net-a-porter, 1 percent to 22.63 euros.
