For the past eight decades, Baracuta’s staple jackets, such as the G9 Harrington, have embodied the brand’s timeless design, dedication to craftsmanship and cultural resonance. Today, the G9 Harrington is a constant, with its designs and values never changing. The Baracuta Cloth fabric for the jacket continues to be manufactured in the U.K. — with the same focus on quality materials and craftsmanship.
Over the years, the G9 has been worn by the likes of legendary entertainers Elvis Presley, James Dean, Ryan O’Neal, Frank Sinatra and more. Back in the U.K., musicians from The Clash to Eric Clapton have donned the G9 jacket over the years. Subsequently, as Britpop raged in the 1990s, both Liam Gallagher and Damon Albarn, the two frontmen of Oasis, dueled while wearing their Harringtons.
Hearkening back to its roots, Baracuta went to Manchester for the 85th anniversary to launch the limited-edition Baracuta book and tapped notable icons of the city, including chef Joseph Otway, DJ and promoter Anton Stephans and punk band A Certain Ratio, as part of the campaign.
The book features never-before-seen archival imagery and gathers 13 notable British people of all ages and backgrounds to discuss their emotional connection to the jacket. Among those unpacking what it means to embody Britishness were Haçienda designer Ben Kelly, vintage expert Ladi Kazeem, visual artist Stanley Chow, DJ and promoter Anton Stephens, singer Victoria Jane, artist Luke Passey and Beryl, a handcrafter of Baracuta’s G9 Harrington in Manchester.
For the fall 2025 collection, Baracuta pays homage to its roots while looking ahead — with new designs and collaborations that showcase the brand’s ethos of authenticity and evolution.
This season, the British brand builds on its heritage and unveils the G18, joining the ranks of staple Baracuta jackets and exemplifying the brand’s enduring legacy with a modern twist. With detailing and a versatile silhouette, the G18 balances both contemporary and classic styles.
Through the exploration of fabric innovations with waxed cotton styles, Baracuta has continued to elevate its outerwear. The Mods parka with British Millerain’s premium waxed cotton pays tribute to icons from British counterculture. The Waxed Deck jacket imbues a sense of rugged elegance that is both functional and stylish with its durable, yet timeless appeal.
And the brand is collaborating with Barbour for a third collection that celebrates Baracuta’s ties to the sound of rebellion and individuality, from the Northern Soul movement to the Mod revival of The Who and Small Faces.
At the heart of the fall 2025 collection is tartan — a foundational piece of the Baracuta cultural identity. Alongside the classic Fraser Tartan, Baracuta introduces the Highlands Hunting Check to add a level of sophistication and depth and renew an enduring tradition. With this new collection, Baracuta showcases its continued commitment to innovation, quality pieces and timeless style — setting the standard in British fashion.
