This fall, a little spritz goes a long way. From Urban Decay to AmorePacific, a bevy of brands are reinventing the toner in spray format. The NPD Group reports that in the 12 months ending May 2013, sales of toners/clarifiers with antiaging benefits in U.S. prestige department stores were $14 million, a 12 percent increase over the previous year.

ULTA BEAUTY’S PRODUCT PUSH
The battle to secure product exclusives is heating up. Ulta, which commands a 17.1 percent share of the beauty-specialist retail sector according to Euromonitor International, is the latest to enter the fray. This fall, the retailer is the sole launch pad for Butter London’s debut color line, the revived Jane makeup brand and Hada Labo Tokyo skin care.
