Inn Scents

This summer, the Hotel Arts Barcelona is offering its guests an odiferous welcome with scents to match their humor. Before checking in to the hotel’s apartments, which are multiroom suites, clients choose a fragrance from a menu of six aromatherapy blends, which is then pumped into their rooms. Designed by Italian fi rm Oikos Fragrances, the scents, which have been microencapsulated into solid form, are disseminated through wall-mounted diffusers. The aromas, including Home, a blend of amber, wood and cloves, and Happiness, which comprises grapefruit, bergamot and floral notes, have also been incorporated into massage treatments available to guests in their rooms or the hotel’s spa. Nightly rates for apartments, which range in size from 1,615 square feet to 3,767 square feet, run from 1,300 euros to 12,000 euros, or $1,720 to $15,865 at current exchange.
