Beauté Prestige International USA, the designer fragrances division of Shiseido Americas Corp., has named Barbara Luisi vice president of sales.

Beauté Prestige International USA, the designer fragrances division of Shiseido Americas Corp., has named Barbara Luisi vice president of sales, a new position designed to reinforce the firm’s sales team.

Luisi, a roughly 20-year veteran of the beauty industry, was most recently vice president of sales for P&G Prestige’s East Coast region, where she oversaw brands such as Gucci, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Lacoste.

In her new role, Luisi will oversee the BPI USA national sales force as part of a strategy to grow the firm’s U.S. business and report to Nicholas Munafo, president of BPI USA.

Previously, those duties were handled by three regional sales directors, who reported to Munafo.
“As BPI embarks on an expansion of its portfolio of prestige fragrances, Barbara comes to us with a skill set uniquely matched to our ambitions as a company,” stated Munafo. “In past positions, she has shown a keen ability to grow and sustain luxury brands in a competitive market, an in-depth understanding of the retail environment and, most of all, the exceptional ability to lead her teams to ever-increasing levels of success.”

This year, BPI USA struck an exclusive agreement for the sales and marketing of Annick Goutal fragrances in the U.S. And last year, the firm became the exclusive distributor of Hermès Parfums in the U.S.
