Lacoste’s Time Warp

At the Lacoste show Saturday morning, Neil Moodie, working for Bumble and bumble, melded eras together, including the Thirties, Fifties and Seventies, to create a slightly undone, just-came-off-the-beach look. “I wanted to make the hair look a little wet so you look like you just got off the beach or got done with playing sports,” said Moodie. “I wanted it to be gentle, soft and warm.” To get this wet and sporty look, Moodie pulled the hair back off the face and gave it a little curl and wave. To thicken up the hair, he used Bumble’s Styling Lotion and Bumble’s Brilliantine to enhance the hair’s shine. To loosen the curls and create an unfinished look, Moodie used his hands to separate the hair.

For makeup, Rose-Marie Swift also wanted to get that “just-worked-out look.” “I wanted to get that hot, sweaty look that appears a little sunburned but that was still fresh and didn’t look tan,” said Swift. “It’s that look you get when you don’t wear enough sunscreen.” On the eyes she used a luminizing moisture along with a little mascara. On the lips and cheeks she used a luminizer with organic reddish tint along with a silver highlighter on the cheeks. Products she used came from her organic makeup line dubbed Beauty Truth.
