Fragrances by the Book

LOS ANGELES — Jan Moran, author of Fabulous Fragrance Wardrobe Sampler, has a new scent-saturated tome.

Fabulous Fragrances, distributed by Crescent House Publishing, hit the shelves last month. It contains everything a fragrance connoisseur wants to know about shopping for a scent, according to Moran.

Chapters cover topics such as “How do I find the right perfume?” and “Fashionable scents of the times,” and even industry basics like “Ingredients: The building blocks of perfumery.”

Also crammed inside are a listing of various celebrities’ favorite scents and profiles of more than 350 prestige fragrances, including the Chanel and Guerlain brands, Boucheron, Donna Karan New York and Dolce & Gabbana.

Fabulous Fragrances, which will retail for $29, is available through Border’s book stores in Dallas, Phoenix and Stanford, Conn., as well as the Bijan boutiques in Beverly Hills and New York.

A portion of the book’s profits will be donated to nonprofit organizations dedicated to breast cancer, AIDS and medical research.
