The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.’s three-year-old Flirt color cosmetics brand made its backstage debut at Charlotte Ronson’s fashion show Wednesday evening. Makeup artist Charlie Green created a look she described as “Farrah Fawcett meets Kate Moss.
“Charlotte is very King’s Row, Notting Hill and Lower East Side — with a little bit of 1970s thrown in,” Green said of the designer. This inspiration translated into a very clean look featuring silvery eyes, a frosty pink cheek and lips that were patted with a mango shade.
The hairdos at Ronson’s presentation were created by Sandra Yu, who is artistic director for the Rusk hair care brand. There were predominantly three looks: braided locks, buns and natural styles.
“The braided look looks intricate,” said Yu, “but it’s what young girls would do. It’s about creating a look without making it look too sculpted.” Yu braided different sections of the hair, taking some braided pieces and sweeping them across the top of the head.
There were low side parts, buns on the side and in the back and dos that were “down and natural,” noted Yu, who used Rusk’s Weightless Plus hairspray to finish off the styles. The idea was to “let a person’s own individuality come out. It’s natural, about the hair having life.”
