Petro Zillia designer Nony Tochterman handed her hair and makeup teams a list of characteristics of prototypical Los Angeles girls for inspiration.
“It was hilarious,” said hairstylist Paul DeArmas, pointing out the list mentioned that Paris Hilton-types carry a toy dog and can’t live without their BlackBerrys. These Hollywood-bound partiers don’t take life too seriously and have fun with their hair, he explained.
Working with L’Oréal Professional, Fred Segal Beauty co-founder DeArmas noted the front of the do was sleek and hairpieces were added to create what he dubbed a “fuzzy chignon” in the back. “[I kept] it simple and clean in the front to not take away from the fashion and did some excess in the back,” he said.
Smashbox Cosmetics, which underwrote the show, did the makeup. A vibrant semisheer pink lipstick was used on lips. Models’ upper eyelids were given the cat-eye liner treatment, and lengthy fake lashes accented the look.
