Biba Beauty: Fresh and Traveled

“I call it knowing freshness,” said makeup artist Alex Box of the look she created for the Biba show Thursday.

“I call it knowing freshness,” said makeup artist Alex Box of the look she created for the Biba show Thursday. “It’s innocence that has knowing behind it; it’s fresh but traveled.”

Working with MAC Cosmetics, Box created a fresh base by blending Face and Body Foundation and Strobe Cream. A warmer shade of foundation was then pressed into the apples of cheeks and used to gently contour. She smeared Vaseline on eyelids over which she sprayed Fix+ before curling lashes. For lips she used a smidgen of Strobe Cream to highlight the Cupid’s bow.

To continue the theme, Duffy, known by the one name, working with L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art, created a feminine coif for “a really healthy, happy, clean, fresh young lady,” he said. After hair was freshly washed, Volume Architect was applied through mid-lengths and ends. Hair was then split into two sections. Each section was twisted upon itself and sprayed with Texture Spray and Gloss Control. The twisted lengths were then curled into buns and sprayed once again with Gloss Control. Diffusers were then used to fully dry the hair. To finish the look, hair was uncoiled to create long flowing waves.
