Because Carmen Marc Valvo’s spring collection was based on seashell colors, said makeup artist Tom Pecheux, “I was looking for something that was reminiscent of the sea.”
Pecheux, who created the look for MAC Cosmetics at Carmen Marc Valvo, came up with a light blue glitter for eyelids and below the brows, peach cheeks and gold lips. A touch of mascara was given to the top row of lashes.
Pecheux was inspired by light reflected off the sea at sunrise and sunset, as well as the “golden sand when the sun hits the beach.”
Hairstylist Odile Gilbert created curly updos for Redken at Valvo. “It’s a done, but not-too-done look,” said Gilbert, who was inspired by cover shots she’s seen on Vogue and W. “A lot of actresses wear this hair,” she remarked.
Gilbert first put barrel curls in the hair and then pinned all the pieces onto the top of the head. Some flyaways were left to hang freely. A healthy dose of Redken Workforce hair spray was applied to keep the curls in place.
