NEW YORK — Clairol has tapped “Desperate Housewives” star Teri Hatcher to be the face of its iconic Nice ‘n Easy hair color brand. The multiyear contract is estimated at $2 million, according to sources, and will use the most likable “Housewife” in “all consumer touch-points,” including print and TV ads, direct-mail and Internet efforts, said Patrice Louvet, vice president of global hair colorants for Wella/Clairol retail hair color.
“We think Teri personifies the spirit of the Nice ‘n Easy brand. Clairol stands for allowing women to transform themselves. Teri [has been] through a transformation with the reinvention of her career,” said Louvet. Ads were shot last week in Los Angeles and will break in January magazines.
