“I wanted to take this rockabilly girl and bring her into a New Wave era — a late-Seventies, early-Eighties moment,” said creative director Andreas Melbostad on his thought process for spring.
He focused on the waist, which translated into crop and bra tops galore, starting with the show’s opening look — a short, studded top paired with high-waisted trousers — and it continued throughout the lineup with a series of belted dresses and skirts. Tuxedo blazers offered a chic update on suiting options, particularly one with red stripes, which provided a nice break from all the black. The collection oozed sex appeal with a hard edge, thanks to loads of leather, studs and lace-up details, though some star-shaped studs and prints added a welcome sense of playfulness.
